getting to know me

What a lovely thing to live a creative, professional life you're proud of.

After dropping out of Auburn University, Doc took an unconventional path — enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he became the youngest-ever Executive Assistant to the 53rd Wing Command Section and earned the prestigious “Below the Zone” promotion. Between long shifts and late nights, he found his way back to his first love — the stage — performing with theaters across the Florida Panhandle.

Following his service, Doc joined the Ayolowa West African Dance Company in Pensacola, Florida, as a principal dancer and drummer before moving to New York City to study at the Atlantic Theater Conservatory. He left early to chase real-world experience, working his way through the city’s creative scene — touring as a stage actor, starring in short films, and choreographing for emerging theatre projects.

Doc’s journey eventually led him back South, where he combined his passions for performance and wellness — earning NCCA-accredited certifications as a Standard and Master Personal Trainer from NESTA while leading group fitness and training programs in Auburn, Alabama.

After a few years, the call of creativity pulled him back in. He returned to the arts full-time, bringing his self-written workshops and creative curriculum to schools and universities throughout the Southeast, and performing with Atlanta’s most respected theatre and dance companies, including 7 Stages, Fly-By Theatre, and True Colors Theatre.

He later founded The Layman Group, an East Alabama multidisciplinary nonprofit arts organization that produced community-driven projects across music, fine art, dance, and theatre. In 2013, after his final stage performance in FLY at Theatrical Outfit — which won Atlanta’s “Best Ensemble” award — Doc transitioned into public speaking and media production.

For the next six years, he delivered keynote talks and hosted national events from Berlin to San Diego, while building a creative portfolio that included hip-hop and country music videos, brand campaigns, and original series — including his own, On Beauty with Doc Waller.

He is also the author of Becoming Possible and is currently working on his next book, Things To Grow On.

Today, through LYFE At Home, Doc is reimagining what online wellness can be — creating a safe, uplifting community where people can connect, grow, and feel seen without the noise and negativity that dominate most digital spaces. His mission is to prove that digital wellness isn’t just possible — it’s the future, when communities are built with care, intention, and heart.
